The largest increase recorded for a commodity category, was the doubling of exports in the ‘Miscellaneous Chemical Products’ category, shifting from 306.6 million USD (2017) to 596.3 million (2018). 

In the case of Israel’s imports from Cyprus, the commodity category which recorded the highest increase was ‘Cereals’, reaching 24.9 million USD (2018) compared to 12.2 million USD (2017).

Looking into bilateral trade between Cyprus and Israel and comparing the results of 2018 with those of 2017, increases were recorded in all areas of interest (commodities and business services). A relevant overview is presented in the table above.

Food Exports to Israel – Opportunities and Challenges (3 December 2018) https://cyprustradecenter.co.il/food-exports-to-israel-opportunities-and-challenges/ Mon, 03 Dec 2018 09:08:41 +0000 http://ylatis.com.cy/cytradecenter/?p=2507 The Commercial Office of the Embassy of Cyprus in Tel Aviv, in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC) and with the support of the Cyprus-Israel Business Association and the Enterprise Europe Network, are organising a seminar titled: ‘Food Exports to Israel – Opportunities & Challenges’.

The seminar aims to provide Cypriot food & beverage producers and exporters with an overview of the Israeli consumer market as well as the import and market access frameworks. A panel of distinguished Israeli guests, experts in their respective domains, will be addressing an array of topics, such as: practices in kosher food production and handling, food regulation and imports regulation.

B2B meetings between Cypriot companies and the Israeli guest organizations will also take place.

Cyprus-Israel Business Forum (4 December 2017) https://cyprustradecenter.co.il/business-forum-cyprus-israel-2017/ Mon, 18 Dec 2017 09:17:27 +0000 http://ylatis.com.cy/cytradecenter/?p=2515 On 4 December 2017, a Business Forum was held in Tel Aviv, with the participation of over 20 Cypriot and more than 30 Israeli companies. The event was organised to coincide with the official re-activation of the Commercial Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the State of Israel.

The Business Forum was jointly organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), the Cyprus-Israel Business Association and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC), in cooperation with the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Cyprus to Israel.

The audience was addressed by the Permanent Secretary of the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism, Dr. Stelios Himonas, the Ambassador of Cyprus to Israel, Ms Thessalia Salina Shambos, the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus, Mr. Shmuel Revel, the President of FICC, Mr. Uriel Lynn and the President of the Cyprus-Israel Business Association, Mr. Christakis Papavassiliou.

Representatives from Cypriot businesses, delivered presentations highlighting investment opportunities in the island, prospects in the real estate sector as well as the benefits that Cyprus has to offer to foreign corporates and investors, serving as a gateway to the EU.

The Forum’s activities were concluded by an intense B2B meetings session, with the total number of meetings exceeding 160.

Moreover, the Embassy of Cyprus to Israel, held a reception to mark the re-activation of the Embassy’s Commercial Office. The keynote speaker to the reception was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism, Dr. Stelios Himonas, whilst opening addresses were delivered by the President of FICC, Mr. Uriel Lynn and the Head of the Embassy’s Commercial Office, Mr. Sofronis Papageorgiou.

The reception was attended by Ambassadors and other representatives of Diplomatic Missions in Israel, directors and representatives of Ministries and governmental organisations, Cypriot and Israeli businesspeople from companies active -primarily- in the areas of energy, investments, tourism and innovation as well as representatives from non-governmental organisations and associations.
